Why do I keep getting declined from surveys?

Getting declined (or screened out) from surveys or not having any available surveys can be frustrating, especially if you've spent a lot of time on the surveys.

About surveys

Surveys are typically conducted for market research. This means that the survey providers have very specific requirements for the types of answers they are looking for.

A common reason for surveys declining is that your profile doesn't suit the target profile.

However, new surveys come out all the time! If you don't have any surveys at the moment, it's a good idea to keep checking for new ones, or try the other offers such as downloading apps or watching videos. It's also a good idea to check out our article on tips for completing surveys!

Even if your profile doesn't suit what the survey providers are looking for, don't use false information in surveys! This can lead to your account being banned from the offer pages. Survey providers will check your answers and remove your NitroCoins for false information even weeks after you've completed them.

You may also be declined during these scenarios:

Immediate Decline

Sometimes you get declined from a survey after answering some preliminary questions. If you were immediately declined, then the survey was probably full for your particular demographic.

For example, there may have been a number of open slots for people aged between 18-22. If you were aged 18-22 and immediately screened out, then the survey may have reached the maximum number of responses for that age group.

Declined after up to 5 minutes

As stated above, surveys look for very specific demographics and qualifications. After answering the background questions on the survey, the survey provider may have determined that you were not part of the target audience they were looking for.

Declined after more than 5 minutes

If you screened out after over 5 minutes of filling in the survey, you may have been declined for quality control reasons. This may include incorrectly answering a security question, speeding through a survey or not concentrating properly on the survey questions.

For example:

  • Incorrectly answering security questions: Question 5 said “Answer A for this question” and you chose answer D.

  • Speeding through surveys: The survey should have taken 10 minutes to get to question 18, but you got there in 3 minutes.

  • Inconsistent answers: The survey asked “Did you go to the movies last week?”. Your answer was no. Then they ask “How many times did you go to the movies last week” and your answer was "Five times".

You may be declined from surveys multiple times, but not qualifying for a survey is completely normal. If you don't get many surveys, you could also try some of the other offers!
